McGUIRE PROSCENIUM
For the first time in its history, the National Theatre of London will broadcast a performance in high-definition into other theaters worldwide, with the Guthrie serving as the exclusive Minnesota venue in this exciting international partnership. Dame Helen Mirren takes the title role in the highly anticipated production of Phèdre, with Dominic Cooper (Mamma Mia! film) as Hippolytus. This savage play by Jean Racine, translated into muscular free verse by the late Poet Laureate Ted Hughes, will be presented for two screenings (July 8 and 9 at 7:30 p.m.) in the McGuire Proscenium at the Guthrie.
